The 2025 lineup at your Kia dealership features two exceptional three-row SUVs. Review the similarities and differences between the Sorento and Telluride to find the perfect choice for your family. Let’s compare these two three-row options now available at your local Kia dealership, so you can determine which is the best ride for your family daily drive or outdoor adventuring needs.

Interior Space
Both the Sorento and Telluride are refined three-row entries in Kia’s 2025 vehicle lineup. The Sorento comes in either a two-row, five-passenger model or a three-row, seven-passenger version. The Telluride comes standard with three rows of seats and accommodates eight (or seven if you select the optional second-row captain’s chairs). A dual-level cargo floor in both SUVs expands your interior space.
Power and Performance
The Telluride sports a 291-horsepower engine across the lineup. The Sorento offers either a standard 191-hp engine or a turbocharged 281-hp engine. The Sorento can tow between 2,000 and 4,500 pounds, depending on the trim and when properly equipped. The Telluride gives you a towing capacity of 5,000, or 5,500 in the top-tier SX Prestige X-Pro when properly equipped. All the available engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Upholstery Options
The Sorento features standard woven cloth seats, with the option to add SynTex or leather upholstery. SynTex is standard in the Telluride, which adds Nappa leather to the list of possibilities.
Fuel Economy
The Sorento gets up to an EPA-estimated 26 combined city and highway miles per gallon. For the larger Telluride, that figure drops slightly to an EPA-estimated 22 combined mpg.
Driver Assistance Tech
Both models come with blind-spot collision warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction-turning detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and many other standard driver assistance features. The Telluride adds standard rear parking sensors and navigation-based smart cruise control with stop-and-go, which are optional for the Sorento.
Comfort and Convenience Features
Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard for the Telluride and optional for the Sorento. Both SUVs have standard push-button start and smart key. The Telluride also has standard Quiet Mode, which lets you limit audio reach to the front row only.
You can upgrade either of these Kia models with power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats or a panoramic sunroof. The Telluride also provides the option of a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The Sorento offers second-row heated outboard seats while the Telluride offers heated and ventilated second-row outboard seats.
Infotainment Tech
Both models have a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and a driver information display that measures about 4 inches. You can get the Sorento with a curved 12.3-inch information display and the Telluride offers a flat version of the expanded screen. Both SUVs feature a standard six-speaker stereo. The Sorento offers an optional 12-speaker Bose system while the Telluride has an optional 10-speaker Harman Kardon system.
